I get so many emails asking me what marketing tools I use to promote my businesses … so I decided to list some of my favorites here.

Web Hosting

I use 1&1 Hosting for many of my web properties. They’re extremely reliable -I’ve never had any technical issues with them.

Dreamhost

For easy blog installs, nothing beats Dreamhost. You know I’m a WordPress fanatic - and the hardest part of WordPress used to be installing it. Not anymore. You just sign up with Dreamhost and click the WordPress button. Bam! Your blog is up and running. And when it comes time to upgrade or do maintenance of your site - it’s easy! You can run your website and / or blog easily here.

Last time I had a technical question they gave great help via email. If you want to speak to a human you need to sign up for a more expensive package.

They’re a nice company … they’re low-priced and they’re green. Which means your website will be green too.

Email Marketing

I love to keep in touch with my customers and colleagues using email - but there’s a problem - it’s called SPAM. Once your email list gets longer than a hundred names you run the risk of being mislabeled a spammer - and getting your domain and email address blacklisted.

That’s why I use Aweber. They’re only $19.95 and they will get your emails delivered. I highly recommend Aweber. Check them out here.

Technical Help

Are you technically inept? Don’t feel bad, lots of people are. No idea how to install a website? Need help setting up your WordPress blog - or maybe you need some graphics?

I’ve been able to find a number of highly skilled IT people to work on projects for a very low price by using Elance.

When you go to Elance you can post a project for free and get dozens of competing bids. You can check out each bidder’s portfolio, references and customer satisfaction score.

Once you pick a freelancer for your project you assign milestones and only pay when the work meets your criteria.

Instead of wasting hours and days on your website - or begging that guy who did it last time to make changes - you can get your projects done fast.
